Highway 26 Overpass - General Project Information
In the fall of 2010, Washington County hired the engineering design consultant,
Moyano Leadership Group (MLG), out of Salem, to study potential overcrossing improvements
to NW Bethany Boulevard over Highway 26 and their associated impacts and costs.
That study was completed and determined that the best option would be to widen the
overpass to the east to handle the future traffic crossing over. The County has
since contracted with PB Americas (Parsons Brinkerhoff) to design the improvements
in conjunction with the roadway widening north on Bethany Blvd.
Funding for the design of these improvements will come solely from Washington County
funding that was initially ear-marked for the current Highway 26 widening project
(Cornell to 185th). Construction funding will come from the remaining available
funding from the Bethany Blvd (Bronson to West Union) project.
Matt Costigan, Washington County, has assumed the project manager responsibilities
to complete the design for this project. If you would like to contact him, he can

The enclosed documents were presented and provided by Jim Evans, Project Manager
for MLG at Focus Group Meeting #3, on September 9, 2010. Please refer to the PFG
#3 Meeting Notes for background information and for a description of the preliminary
findings.
Mel Sears, of PB Americas, presented information at the Focus Group Meeting #8 and
is included in the Bethany Blvd Overcrossing April 14, 2011 briefing.pdf document.
Mark Hirota, Project Manager of PB Americas, presented updated information and design
mapping for the overpass widening project at the August 9th, PFG #9 meeting. All information for the Cornell to Bronson
segment can be found at PB's project website at:
